Yuletide is always such a fun thing for me, so I hope my prompts are fun for you! Everything listed here are merely suggestions, so please, go crazy and have fun!

I really love gen fic, comedy, character studies, and slice of life stories. I am all about laughing at those every day life things that happen to us all, those mundane life details in extraordinary stories, and stories about friendships and relationships, both grudging and deep. Ensemble fic is the best thing ever! I have such a soft spot for awesome ladies, strong female characters, and strong female friendships. I love seeing the tiny details of the differences in cultures or locations, the history of a place, all the little things only someone that really loves a place will know.

I also like explosions, action, kicking ass and taking names, and cursing like a sailor. If you can get an awesome character in a space suit, blowing out an airlock and blowing up a space station while thinking "all in a day's work", I might melt from the happy.

While I do love tragedy, violence, and explosions, I do not like it to be without reason. I also do not like character bashing. While AUs can be awesome, I'd rather you stick with canon.

--Except with Aliens. Because what movies after the second one? I have no idea what you're talking about!


Now, the prompts!


1) Shine On Me



What is happening in this video? No, seriously, tell me. I can see there is meant to be some sort of story, but I can't figure out what that story might be. Who is the red headed, attractive lady? Is she a princess? Random lady from the forest? Is she a mage or just happens to do mage things sometimes? Is Chris Dane Owens' character a prince? Or a rogue? Or a pirate? Is he a prince rogue pirate?

What are the pirates doing? Are those dudes that sometimes follow Chris Danes Owens around even pirates? Those three ladies in black, are they good guys, bad guys, ambiguous guys? They're dragons, aren't they? Who is the masked man and why is he Victor Von Doom-ing in the ice castle? Who the hell are the blonde sky ladies? Or is it one lady? I CAN'T TELL. Why did that ship explode? Why are characters dropping that random box into Mount Doom? Is the red head now queen? Was Chris Dane Owens queen? And why do we keep color matching all the costumes to the scenery???

No, seriously, what the hell is going on? Give me a coherent story, yuletide writer! Or a silly story. Really, can there be plot? :D? Tell me all about these characters! It does not have to star Chris Dane Owens' character, either. All of the characters really interest me.


2) Dredd (2012)

Anything, yuletide writer, anything!

I admit, I am a fan of the comics, but I really loved the universe built in the movie. It is more grounded than the comic, more realistic. Give me slice of life in Dredd's life, a backstory for Anderson, more backstory for MaMa. Or a day in the life of MaMa, criminal overlord. Or Anderson now that she is a judge!

I really am not joking when I say anything. I really just want stories in this universe. I loved Anderson, especially that the producers actually listened to the creator and did not create a romance (I do really like Dredd as a character, but I agree that he is just not capable of a romantic relationship). I love explosions. You can give me characters dealing with something similar to the comics plot, like Democracy or America. Or just totally go your own way. Go to town, anon!


3) Les Aventures Extraordinaires d'Adele Blanc-Sec (2010)

French, saucy and sexy adventurer that is entirely competent while being totally crazy with her wacky plans. I loved this whole movie at first sight! I loved everything about it! I would love to hear anything from this universe.

More backstory adventure fic with Adele (chasing yeti across mountains, plundering tombs, correcting historical wrongs, getting the villains cursed by ancient spells and wandering off, cackling). Adele and Agathe bickering like the sisters they are and being friends. More wacky Adele plans to Solve Problems. Adele's previous interview with the president, even.

Gen fic, plot fic, sister fic, adventure fic, I'm all for it!


4) Aliens (1986)

I am a HUGE Aliens fan. If I could, I would be Ripley when I grow up (not that I am not already grown up and seriously, I'm good with not fighting hoards of aliens to my death, but you get me, right?). Anything you want to give me in this universe would make me happy. If you need some suggestions, here are two for you:

I would LOVE some more backstory of Newt's mother, Anne. I mean, she and her husband go out to the frontier, have a family, adventure into an unknown space craft, and she drags her husband's body back out on her own, trying to save him. I would love to see anything with her, the family, Newt, whatever you feel like giving me.

If that isn't up your alley, I'm always happy to have more Ripley in my life. Her with Newt, her with Hicks, her flying in space, her thoughts on the life she left behind.

I really do like the idea of family and romance we get to see in this universe: it is practical and subtle, not smacked over your head, and I'd love to see more of it.
